SPI Windsurfing Blowout '07
The Blowout was held May 5th & 6th with many folks participating and having lots of fun. The events this year included Triangle Slalom, Long Distance, and new this year, GPS Speed trials. The GPS Speed trials were a great success and will definitely be included next year. Blowout results are below:

After the Blowout and our visiting friends left us for their respective homes, it has been rather quiet here on the island. I think the wind left with some of you! We have not had a lot of sailing days for this time of year. Although, we are hoping the pattern has been broken. We recently had enough wind for a solid week of sailing – ahhh, thank goodness, we needed it!! If you are in the area this summer come on down and sail with us. It gets lonely out there with only one or two other sailors on the water!!
We have had a wonderful addition to our windsurfing family. Jibber and Laura are the proud grandparents of a beautiful baby girl, Hanna Elizabeth, a Blowout Baby born Cinco de Mayo!!! She was 7 pounds, 11 ounces and 19 inches long. Yes, Jibber’s new name is Pappi! She’s a cutie as shown below.
Do you have excess sailing gear?? Need some sailing gear?? We have swap meets scheduled: October 27th, November 3rd, November 10th, November 17th, and November 24th all Saturdays. They will be at Louie’s Backyard in the south parking lot starting at 9:00 AM. Come check them out! One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
Fall Feast
Our Fall Dinner is set for November 9th location and details to be announced. Mark your calendars to come enjoy dinner and drinks with your windsurfing friends.
Monthly Club meetings
The first Monday of every month is the scheduled SPI windsurf club meeting. They are held at Sailboards South (Herman’s) 204 West Dolphin Street at 6PM. Please feel free to attend if you are so inclined. We want your participation.
